at Horseshoe Lake
General Information
Horseshoe Lake
This is a small lake in the southeast corner of Oceana County, within the Manistee National Forest. Although it was beautiful and quiet the day I visited, I expect that in the summer this is a busy and noisy place. The Big O motorsport trail passes through the forest just north of here and this may be a popular site with that group
Camping
Camping- there are quite a few unofficial drive-in primitive campsites on both the north and south sides of the lake.
Boat Launch
Boat Launch- just a short, walk-in on the west side of the lake, but you could put in a small boat or kayak by hand. Very limited parking.
